Our Technology

New Skin Tattoo Removal has upgraded our technology to the industry-leading Astanza Duality laser. Our commitment to great results, faster fading, and fewer treatments led us to this decision and we couldn’t be happier to serve you with this state-of-the-art technology. The Astanza Duality is a powerful Q-switched Nd:YAG laser that is trusted by leading physicians, renowned tattoo removal clinics, skilled tattoo artists, and community-changing non-profits like ourselves.

The Duality boasts an ultra-quick pulse duration matched with high peak power and versatile wavelengths to deliver unparalleled ink shattering for faster removal on a wide variety of ink colors. The Duality’s 1064 nm and 532 nm wavelengths are safe to use on all skin types I through VI and specifically target unwanted ink pigment without harming any surrounding skin tissue.

The Duality’s 5 x 5 mm square spot size delivers high fluence and reaches deep into the skin, allowing more pigment to be treated with each pulse when compared to other lasers. The square spot shape reduces treatment overlap and greater risks of epidermal injury, especially for patients with darker skin types.

Furthermore, the Astanza Duality’s flat-top homogenized profile beam distributes uniform power across the skin without hot spots. This even distribution of every increases safety application and reduces unwanted side effects for patients.

All of these features combined make the Duality the perfect choice for New Skin Tattoo Removal and our clients. We guarantee great results, fast treatments, and high-performance with this cutting-edge technology.

How Laser Tattoo Removal Works

Laser tattoo removal is the only noninvasive, nonsurgical method for removing unwanted ink that is safe, effective, and does not result in scarring.

Laser tattoo removal works by sending specific wavelengths of light energy into the skin in extremely short and fast pulses. Each pulse of the laser safely penetrates through the skin and targets the ink particles trapped in the dermal layer. The rapid absorption of light energy causes the tattoo ink particles to break into tiny fragmented pieces that are then naturally removed through the immune system over the weeks following each treatment.

With each session, the laser targets the shallowest layer of ink and works its way deeper until every layer of ink is sufficiently shattered. Over a series of treatments, the tattoo will gradually fade until the tattoo is no longer visible. Virtually every patient will need multiple treatments in order to target the varying depths of ink that make up a tattoo.

The number of treatments needed is unique to each patient and depends on a number of variables and factors (for example: tattoo location, type of ink, tattoo colors, patient health, etc.). On average, professional tattoos require 5 to 10 treatments or more for complete removal. Amateur tattoos or older, faded tattoos may require as little as 3 to 4 treatments depending on a variety of factors. All treatments are spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart to allow your skin to heal following a laser session.

Colors

Dark (black) and red inks respond to laser treatment best. Oranges and purples usually lighten over time as well. Blue, green and yellow inks require a special wavelength to remove completely and are the most difficult pigments to remove. Additional treatments are often needed on blue, green, and yellow inks to produce significant fading. We use the gold standard in medical lasers that allow us to lighten all colors.

Our Medical Laser Equipment

We have invested in the Astanza Duality laser, the most advanced Q-switched Nd:YAG laser in the tattoo removal industry. Our Duality uses high peak power, ultra-fast pulse duration, and a homogenized square spot beam for precise targeting, optimal ink shattering, and safe treatment for all patient skin types.

Wavelengths

1064 nm: This wavelength works best on dark inks like black, dark brown, and dark blues. Contrary to popular belief, dark inks are the easiest color to remove. This wavelength is used on almost every tattoo since the majority of tattoos use black ink for shading, outlining, script, and more.

532 nm: This wavelength works best on warm colors like red, orange, and violet. Red is one of the most popular colors found in tattoos and is a shallower ink than black.
